Calais/Dunkerque (october 2021)
On the northern coast of France, along the Franco-British border, several hundred exiled people survive in informal settlements. Families, children, minors and isolated adults: almost everyone wants to reach the United Kingdom. The crossing is dangerous, sometimes deadly. Many attempts fail and people are forced to survive in camps until they succeed.
For a week I accompanied the team of Utopia 56, an association that helps exiled people on the coast.
